Stealing with the Jackals

Time for a little Sunday Stealing, the meme where the questions are stolen, but credit is given to the source.  As you all know, Kwizgiver is taking a break for the summer and the intrepid Bud Weiser is filling in.  Of this week's quiz, Bud says:

We stole this gem from a blog that promotes a realtor (Downing-Frye) and general posts about, wait for it, real estate. But the dude got tagged to do a meme (naturally he has to explain what a meme, or MeMe as he calls it, actually is). I’d tell you more but really this is hard work stealing a meme. It’s been a long time and I’m not used to doing anything but occasionally play. The victim claimed he was "sharing it to all us jackals", so that's the name of it now. Oh, it's Paul McCartney's birthday. Happy, happy, Paul!
So, here's to all us theives!

The Jackal Meme

Question 1:  Who is your favorite musical artist?  My musical tastes are all over the place.  I don't think I can choose one favorite artist.  In the late 70s I was all about The Eagles, Journey, Meatloaf, AC/DC.  I hit college in the early 80s and loved me some New Wave and Punk sounds like Adam Ant, Billy Idol, and the like.  I discovered country in the 90s and have liked many artists in that genre, though top honors goes to Toby Keith.  I also liked metal hair bands in the 80s and 90s....Bon Jovi, Guns & Roses, Poison.  I like contemporary Christian music, big band, swing, jazz, there really isn't anything I won't at least give a listen to.

Question 2:  What is your favorite album by that artist?  While he isn't my favorite artist, Billy Joel's Piano Man is probably my all time favorite album.

Question 3:  Who is your favorite blogger?  The Pioneer Woman

Question 4:  If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and what's interesting about them?  I would choose one of the founding fathers...maybe Ben Franklin.  For one thing I think it would be fascinating to hear from one of them what their vision for the United States was, where they thought we were headed, what their hopes were.  And then I think it would be interesting to show them what we are like now and get their reaction to everything....not just politically, but technology-wise, too.

Question 5:  What did you want to be when you grew up?  Lots of things. At one time or another I wanted to be an explorer, a zoologist, a trainer at Sea World, a radio DJ, an architect, a social worker, a globe-trotting reporter, a novelist, a magazine editor, and a cartoonist.

Question 6:  What is the most interesting piece of trivia that you know? I have the questioning mind of a writer...my brain is FULL of trivia. Randomly choosing the first thing that pops into my mind....the glue on Israeli stamps is certified kosher.

Question 7:  If you could live in any point of history, when would it be and why? I think the 1950s would have been pretty cool.  The country was still riding the high of winning WW II, enjoying more wealth and leisure time than ever. Technology was jumping ahead by leaps and bounds.  It just seems like it would have been exciting.

Question 8:  What do you think of the election in the U.S. so far?  Mostly I find it very disappointing that out of a country this large, with all the advantages we have, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the best we can come up with.  It doesn't say much for us or for the future of the U.S.

Question 9:  What is your favorite TV drama?  What do you like about it? I don't currently follow any dramas on TV.

Question 10:  What is the most interesting job you've ever had? Probably as youth director at a church.  I loved working with the kids and I think I learned as much from them as they taught me.  Aside from that, when you work with teenagers it's something different every day.  It really kept me hopping.

  3. Your trivia question answer was top-notch. Certainly something I never thought about. (I loved being a news reporter. I miss it terribly. Most of the time it was boring, but when things were hot, they were scalding.)

    1. Yes, I don't think I'd have made it as a local reporter covering town meetings and such. My A.D.D. would have me twitching.

  4. Ben Franklin would be an awesome choice, especially to see how dependent we are on electricity.
