A Peaceful Hodgepodge

1. I read here a list of 13 things you should do in June. I'm paraphrasing a little but basically...

Go on a road trip with your best friend, pick fresh strawberries, host a garden party, take a morning run, treat yourself to a flower bouquet, spend a whole day hiking, discover a new coffee shop, try a new ice cream flavor, read at least one book, visit a Farmer's Market, make a swing for your home, and visit a new city.

Which thing on the list do you most want to do? Of the activities mentioned, which one holds the least appeal? How many on the list will you attempt in June? What's one thing you'd add to the list?
The one that holds the most appeal is absolutely "go on a road trip with your best friend."  The least appeal winner is "take a morning run."  I've read a book and I'm working on a second. I've picked some strawberries.  I'm planning a road trip with my friend, but I don't think it's going to happen until later in the summer.  I'm sure I'll be hitting the farmer's market soon.  One thing I'd add to the list?  Sit on the deck first thing each morning and spend some time with God, watch the world come alive, and just be thankful.

2. What's something you could do today to feel more peaceful?  Ignore my daughter's moods.

3. June 7th is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day. Are you a fan? Swiss mocha, rocky road, chocolate chocolate chip, peanut butter and chocolate, or a dish of plain chocolate...what's your pleasure?  Of those I'd have to say I like plain chocolate, but I looooove Ben & Jerrys chocolate fudge brownie ice cream (I forget its cute name).

4. If you came with a warning what would it say?  Warning: I am what I am. Take me or leave me. I am not here to live up to your expectations of who I should be.

5.What's the most interesting website you've visited in the last week?  I can't think of anything.  I've mostly stuck to blogs and Facebook.

6. Spring, summer, autumn, winter...which season are you? Why?  Autumn.  I just love the colors, the smells, the flavors, the earthiness, and it's a really cozy season.  I hope that I am like it....blessed with God's abundance.

7. "You lose sight of things...and when you travel, everything balances out." ~Daranna Gidel

Would you agree with that sentiment? Explain why or why not.
I don't know.  I haven't done that much traveling, but I'm not sure that new experiences are the thing that would bring life back into perspective.  I don't even know if I know exactly what this question is asking.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

  1. Ha-I like the saying in your random thought. When someone says that to me I think they mean do it yesterday : ) Blessed with God's abundance! Great way of saying what I wanted to say. Have a nice day!

    1. I've always taken the snarky way, too, but loved this when I saw it. I'm choosing to look at it that way from now on.

    1. Trust me, it's not easy. The reality of it is more that she has her moods and says what she wants to say and I just bite my tongue rather than going another round with her. At this point I keep reminding myself that she is moving out in a week and a half.

  3. Your random thought is funny!

I'm sorry there are issues with your daughter. I know from my own experiences as a daughter, the time near moving out is both exciting and scary. A bad leaving made it easier to do, hence the bad moods and arguments with my mother. I hope that things will level out with you and your daughter soon.

    Have a blessed week!
