The Gal's Meme, Part One

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes (or surveys) from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard the expression, “honor among thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from. When possible, we contact the owner of the blog where we stole the post. We also provide a link to the victim's meme in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from this new meme or recently asked questions from a previously featured meme.

From Bud:  We Found this gem when last week we asked for memes to steal. The Gal Herself, (my friend and the author of Saturday 9) gave us this one that she stole from Kwizgiver (my friend and the author of this meme except this summer). It's long so we broke it up. As it says above, we edit and change questions. Mostly I hate yes or no questions. So I change them or delete them. Sometimes I rewrite almost every question. That also allows the person I stole it from to play. That's not a goal but it is reality. If you think hosting a meme is easy, try it once. Okay, now time for me to shout:

Cheer to all of us thieves!!

Sunday Stealing: The Gal's Meme, Part One

What’s your favorite word or phrase?  Really??  Conveys quite a lot when you're confronted with stupidity.

Tell us about a person who made you smile today.  I guess that would be my husband because I haven't been around anyone else today.

What were you doing at 8 am this morning?  I had stretched out on the couch to watch television and I fell asleep.  I think I was still there at 8.

What were you doing 30 minutes ago?  Talking to a friend on FB messenger.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?  Thanksgiving.  I love what a relaxed, easy-going holiday it is.  Nothing but hanging out with family...the last moment of calm before the hoopla of Christmas.

Tell us about a visit to another country.  The only other country I've been to is Canada and I was barely over the border in Niagara Falls so it really wasn't much different than being on the U.S. side.  We went for one of our anniversaries a while back.  At the time U.S. currency was worth about twice as much as Canadian currency.  Loved that.

What is the last thing you said aloud? Goodnight to my husband.
What was the last thing you had to drink?  Diet Coke.
What are you wearing right now?  Pajamas

What was the last thing you ate?  I made big salads for supper with garlic shrimp on them.

Have you bought any new clothing items this week?  Not this week, but I need to get a few things before next Friday for my niece's wedding.

When was the last time you ran?  College?

What’s the last sporting event you watched?  The only thing I watch is football, so I'm going to guess it was the Super Bowl.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would absolutely love to see the Middle East...Israel, Egypt, Turkey, etc., but in this world I don't see that ever happening.

Who is the last person you sent a comment/message to on Facebook?
The friend I was messaging earlier.

Ever go camping? If yes, tell us about one time.  Yes.  My family went a few times when I was growing up.  I went quite a bit as a teen with the Civil Air Patrol and the Youth Conservation Corps.  My husband isn't much of a camper but we took the kids and went with friends a couple of times when the kids were growing up.  The very first time we went we were in tents and the worst thunder storm with torrential rain blew through in the night.  Everything was flooded and soaked.  We ended up sitting it out in the van and decided to pack up and come home the next morning.  I'm surprised my husband ever agreed to go back.

Do you think a tan improves your looks?  It doesn't make any difference to me unless it's an obviously fake tan.  That just looks stupid.

Have y
ou ever lost anything down a toilet?  Not that I can remember.

What is your guilty pleasure?  Apparently, it's memes.

  1. I think about the camping I did while in my 20s and shudder to imagine it now!

    1. Seriously. If I camped now the way I did then I'd wake up a cripple.

  2. You and I agree on Thanksgiving. I never had a desire to visit the Middle East, but in this day and age you couldn't pay me to go there.

    2. I think it's the ancientness of the Middle East that fascinates me. That and the fact that it's the cradle of civilization. We get all excited here about things that are 200 years old when they've got stuff that is thousands of years old.

  3. I don't think you have a thing to feel guilty about with memes. We're a special breed, us meme doers.

  5. Sometimes I feel guilty admitting this, but Thanksgiving is so much more relaxed now that I no longer spend it with my family. I always brought the sweet potatoes because my kid sister brought the drama. :)

  6. Fortunately, we haven't had that kind of drama at family gatherings, but I don't think you should feel guilty at all. We don't get a choice in who our families are and sometimes they are toxic and we have to protect ourselves.

  7. We had big, cushy boat foam cushions in the last years of on-the- ground camping between the big rigs. They were made to float for days in case of a boating disaster and sure saved our hips.
