Welcome to the June 11 edition of Sunday Stealing. The weekly meme that borrows its questions from many sources and always gives credit to the source. This week we are welcoming Bud back to the helm and thanking Quizgiver for a job well done, while wishing her a great summer and break from finding questions for us to answer. This week's meme: My Friends Call Me Tulip
Cheers to all us thieves!
Can you stay inside all day without getting bored? Most of the time I could. I have more than enough to keep me busy...books, movies, crafts, Facebook, actual household chores. Every now and then I get in a mood, though, and nothing amuses me.
Tell us about a TV show we should watch. I am so addicted to Mountain Monsters on Destination America. It's about a bunch of rednecks from West Virginia running around Appalachia in the dark with loaded guns and hunting for Bigfoot! It is without doubt the stupidest thing I've ever seen, but it is HILARIOUS! I sit here and laugh till I cry sometimes. They have, more than once, caught a Bigfoot in one of their ridiculous traps but they never show it. Imagine that!
When was the last time you were at your home computer all day? I don't think I've ever been at it ALL day.
What websites, other than your own, do you visit daily? Facebook, my banking website, and the blogs of a couple of friends. That's it.
Do you have a favorite day of the week? Why? I guess it would be Sunday because that's usually the only day of the week my husband doesn't work and we get to spend the day together.
Did you ever watch Saturday morning cartoons? What was your favorite? I actually watched some of them with my kids right up until they stopped having such a thing as Saturday morning cartoons. A favorite? Geez....I loved so many of them. I guess at the top of my list would be Scooby-Doo, all of the Warner Bros. cartoons (Bugs, Elmer, Pepe le Pew, etc.), and all of the Sid & Marty Croft shows.
Were you a comic book fan? Not a huge one, but I liked reading The Archies, Richie Rich, and Casper.
Did you earn an allowance when you were a kid? How much? Was it tied to chores? I think I got around $5 a week and yes, it was definitely tied to chores. My parents were not the kind of parents who just gave me stuff for existing.
What is the fanciest type of car you've ever ridden in? What occasion? Probably a classic Mercedes sedan that was all inlaid with cherry wood and had leather seats. No occasion. The father of one of my friends in college restored Mercedes as a hobby and when we need wheels to go to a concert or something he lent it to my friend.
What's your favorite sport to watch? Football. I am a die-hard Steelers fan. I bleed black and gold.
Ever tried surfing? Nope. I don't go that far into the ocean. It's that whole deathly afraid of sharks thing.
Have you ever been to a live major team sporting event? I've been to many Steelers' games, a few Pirates games and even a Penguins game back in the day. Oh, and one WWF match waaaay back in the day (I'm talking Andre the Giant, Jimmy Superfly Snooka, and Rowdy Roddy Piper back in the day.).
On a scale of 1 to 5 how athletic are you? (1=nerd, 5=very athletic) Back in the day I was definitely a 5, but these days I'm probably a 2, but I'm beginning to do some work on that.
What's your favorite horror movie? I hate horror movies.
What's your favorite cult classic movie? The Princess Bride
About how many times do you go to the movies a month? A month? Oh, you are funny. I'm doing well if I go to the movies 3 or 4 times a year!
Favorite movie, which one came to your mind first? Dirty Dancing
What if your life was like a movie? What type of movie would it be? Is there a genre for boring middle-aged life?
Do you like long series movies like Lord of the Rings? If I like the stories, I do. I liked LOTR, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, and probably a few others. While I liked the original 3 Star Wars movies a lot, I just can't get excited about or into the rest that have followed.
That Mercedes sounds like great fun. And it's nice to know someone else only gets to 3 or 4 movies a year!
ReplyDeleteWe had so much fun with that car. My friend put a cap on and acted like a chauffeur for us at the mall. LOL
DeleteFancy Mercedes! And I totally agree about the Star Wars movies--the original were the best!
ReplyDeleteIt was sweet. I tried to talk my parents into buying for me. It was priced at $2500, not much now, but a small fortune for a used car in 1983.
DeleteThe original Star Wars were the best, agreed. This last one is more like a spin-off series, and the three that are now called the first three (the pre-Darth Vadar ones) are just bad.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the latest one yet. I will admit I'm at least curious about it and seeing the old characters back and played by the original actors.
DeleteI love watching football. My daughter is a Steelers fan. I am a Cowboys and Packers fan! :)
ReplyDeleteSteelers and Coyboys? Oh, it must get interesting at your house!
Deleteloved the archies as well and like you have many inside things to do from chores to entertainment
ReplyDeletecome see us at http://shopannies.blogspot.com
The Archies were the best! I just remembered they had a cartoon on TV for a while, too, that I liked.
DeleteI enjoyed reading your responses! A classic Mercedes Sedan, that must be adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me!
