Anyone who likes mysteries, action...and sweet romance, will enjoy Missing, the latest installment in the Nikki Boyd Files by Lisa Harris. Nikki is a member of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Missing Persons Special Task Force. The unanswered questions surrounding her own missing sister drive Nikki in a way no one else is and pushes her harder to find those who are missing.
In Missing, Nikki and her partner are called to a homicide scene where they learn the two dead men on the floor were the intruders and the husband and wife who lived there are unaccounted for.
It doesn't take long for the body count to start rising as Nikki begins to uncover a huge counterfeit drug operation that someone is willing to kill as often as it takes to protect. Complicating matters for Nikki, is that caught up in the middle of it are the husband and son of her best friend, who drowned over a year ago. Their lives are at stake and Nikki will do whatever it takes to keep them safe because she is secretly in love with the handsome, but still vulnerable Tyler.
Lisa Harris knows how to weave a convincing tale. I might have wished for just a bit more character depth, but the story itself was great. I love mysteries but find that I often know "who did it" well before the end of the story. This one kept me guessing and most of my guesses were wrong! I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
Sounds like a book I would enjoy! AND...I like books in a series, so I don't lose the characters. I'm always looking for something with at least three books in a series. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. By the way, it's a Christian series. Loosely. There is only a couple of mentions of God or prayer, but good morals. The romance is very chaste.
